The Founding Shareholders acquired the company from MGX in April 2003, where it had previously traded profitably for 10 years as Magic SA. The name was changed to Magix as management added new products and services and took the business into the Integrated Risk Management space.

Alon Goren

Business Development Director
Alon is responsible for increasing Magix’ presence in existing accounts and entrenching its solutions in new clients’ businesses. With a diploma in practical software engineering, he is also part of the team that identifies new technologies to complement Magix offerings. Alon’s interests lie in IT compliancy, fraud detection and other security risks.

Phillip Gerber

Technical Director
Phillip specialises in understanding customer needs and then recommending or even building the solutions to address these, drawing on his qualification in Informatics and his extensive experience in various major UK financial institutions. Phillip’s technology interests span architectural frameworks, corporate governance and security solutions.

Shireen Baboo

Operations Manager
At the core of the business Shireen’s attention to detail and experience in IT project management make her a key driver behind the overall success of the operations at Magix. She plays an active role in enhancing the business opportunities and processes to provide suitable solutions and services to customers.

Kevin Mizen

Professional Services Manager
The bearer of several specialist IT diplomas and a tax diploma, Kevin is dedicated to ensuring that the Magix client base receives the best possible service from over 30 motivated, sincere and highly trained consultants. Under his hands-on tutelage, his team works on a variety of long-term and short-term projects throughout South Africa.

Matt Webster

General Manager
Matt is responsible for the development of Magix in the Western Cape. With his Post-Grad qualification in Enterprise Management from UCT, Matt is passionate about delivering the full range of Integrated Risk Management Solutions to the area. Along with a comprehensive support and services team, Magix Cape is beginning to make significant inroads into the local market.
